UNLV Catering's food can enhance your event and help take it to the next level. They provide a wide selection of food, drink, and service options that can be tailored for your event. Below you will find a few of UNLV Catering's policies and procedures. Please see UNLV Catering's website to see a complete menu.
All events on campus must use UNLV Catering for any type of food or drink service.
Placing Catering Orders:
To ensure availability of items and availability of catering personnel, it is best to order at least two weeks prior to your event. We encourage you to phone or fax your order as soon as possible so that we can reserve it on our calendar.
Guarantees and Changes:
When placing an order, we ask that the client provide an estimated guest count. A final guarantee is due three days prior to your event. In the event of increases, the Catering Department is prepared to serve 10 percent above the final guarantee. The client will be billed for the guaranteed number of guests or the actual number of guests if the number increases at the event. To ensure the success of your event, any changes to the catering order should be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to your event. Should your order be under the minimum requirements, after hours, or on weekends, you will be subject to charge.
Cancellations:
All cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to scheduled event or a service charge may apply.
Payment:
All catered functions must have a secured payment before they occur. Purchase vouchers, university funds, checks, procurement, or credit cards are all valid payment methods. Nonuniversity-related groups are required to make a 50 percent deposit upon acceptance of order, with the balance due prior to the start of the event.
Deliveries and Pickups:
UNLV Catering does not have access to the rooms or buildings on campus. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that the facilities are unlocked for setup, delivery, and pickup. A time for these services will be set in advance. If your event takes place within Student Affairs Facilities (Student Union, Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Campus Housing, Outdoor Green Space), the SLSC Office will work with you to arrange this service.
Facility Setup:
UNLV Catering is not responsible for setting or resetting rooms for events. Your room setup should be coordinated through the respective department. Should setups be required by our catering staff, appropriate charges will be billed to your event. We do not provide tables, chairs, BBQs, and other equipment. They can be provided at an additional charge.
Upgrades:
All beverage services and continental breakfasts will be delivered with high-quality disposable plastic ware and cutlery. China is available at an additional charge. Linens will be provided for food and beverage tables only. An additional charge may apply for linens for meeting and dining tables.
Bar Services:
UNLV Catering can also provide all bar services upon request and when applicable.
Attendants:
To ensure your event is a success, catering staff will be provided for all served meals and buffets during the first two hours of service. If additional time is needed, a fee per attendant may apply.
